Art in Miniature by Lynn

I found a photo of the miniatures i used to paint. I'd love to do some more actually - when i get the time. This is a truly awful photo of course but it might give you some idea. They are painted on ivory paper with tiny brushes, some consisting of only a few hairs. Acrylic paint is used. The larger one on the left is of Samuel Pepys. It measures roughly 3" x 2". The top one of artist John Constable, and measures around 2" x 1 1/4" the third was an attempt at a Da Vinci if i remember correctly. Hope you enjoy them.

Wow, very cool Lynn. Do you still have the paintings? I really like painting with acrylics—the other day I opened up a new tube of white and was so annoyed that the texture was clumpy and unmanageable. Then I realized I had accidentally bought a tube of oil instead of acrylic. Damn it. Now I know I don't like oils at least.

Nice I agree with Robyn on the acrylics. I will not go back to oil unless I have to. I like these miniatures.

How many talents do you have? You found a photo of your miniatures, but you don't have any left? If I had managed to paint something like this, I would keep it forever! Too proud of it!

he he thanks, Peter, Rich and Scout. Sorry so long in replying, not been well.

I am quite proud of them. My parents own all these three so i can still see them when i go to visit. I have sold some others.

Acrylics are far better, in my view. At least, for modern living. If i had a mansion where i could leave a studio standing undisturbed, perhaps i'd dabble in oils.

I'd like to do some more miniatures. Perhaps when i'm up and about again i'll buy some more ivory paper and tiny brushes.

Thanks for enjoying my art work!

Oh Lynn
They are gorgeous. Maybe I should commission you to do some miniatures of my children...
I know you would do my darlings justice ;)
